The short version
Beckon handles many everyday actions right on your Mac, including understanding your voice, speaking back, window and file controls, and recording and transcribing meetings. When you ask for something that needs to go online, such as research, an answer, a draft, or a meeting summary, Beckon sends only the information needed for that request to the service providers that help us deliver it.
Those requests pass through Beckon's own server, which adds our credentials and forwards them. It doesn't store what you ask or what comes back. It records only technical details, such as which service was called, whether it worked, how long it took, and which account made the call, to keep the service running and prevent abuse.

What stays on your Mac, and what leaves it
- Your voice. Understanding your voice and speaking back happen on your Mac where supported. If a feature ever needs to go online instead, the app tells you and lets you control it.
- Everyday commands. Window, workspace, clipboard, file, and app controls happen on your Mac. To work out what you asked for, the text of your spoken request may be sent to a service provider that processes it on our behalf.
- Online features. Research, answers, drafts, meeting summaries, and Ask about this send what the request needs, such as your question, the text you selected, or the area you boxed on screen, to service providers that process it on our behalf.
- Meetings. Transcripts are made on your Mac. When you ask for a summary, the transcript or an excerpt is sent to a service provider to write it. Meeting audio is never kept. Beckon shows a visible recording indicator and stop control, and you can delete a transcript at any time.
- Affiliate links. A click can send the destination a referral identifier and ordinary browser data under that destination's own privacy policy. Beckon does not share your account ID with partners.
Sharing and security
We share the minimum necessary information with the service providers below, and with destinations you choose to open or connect. We may disclose information where required by law or in a corporate transaction, subject to applicable protections.

Data in transit is encrypted using standard TLS. Local storage uses macOS protections available on your device. Employee access is limited to what is needed to operate the service. We investigate incidents and notify affected users where required by law.
Choices and rights
You can stop recording, turn off the wake word, revoke macOS permissions, manage or delete saved watches, cancel a plan, and delete your account from the Account page in Beckon. To access or correct account data, email privacy@beckonapp.ai. Rights vary by location; applicable regional rights and the procedures to exercise them will be described here once the operating entity and launch markets are confirmed.
Draft notice. This page will be finalized with the operating entity, effective date, retention schedule, legal bases per jurisdiction, and service provider details before the app launches. Sections that require those specifics have been omitted from this draft.
